PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT

AS THEY SAY ON THE INTERNET     OMG   -- TRANSLATION OH MY GOSH!

We had a full bus on Saturday to New York to see Priscilla and it was a unanimous decision....this show is fabulous.

From the first moment we are bouncy to the music.  The New York Times said too much feathers, sequins and glitter....NO WAY.... CRITICS THINK THEY HAVE TO BE CRITICAL SO THIS IS THEIR CRITICAL COMMENT.   Priscilla is actually the bus the three drag queens travel across Australia in.  Reminds me of the pschodellic pink submarine  but on wheels.   

How many Tony awards will this show get?  Look for lead Will Swenson to be a nominee.  Can't imagine that Tony Sheldon doesn't get best support actor...or is that best supporting actress?  Are they going to put him up against Nick Adams the third drag queen?   and then there is Ashley Sprnecer, Miss Understanding who has to be nominated for best actress.

Choreographer Ross Coleman absolutely outdid himself and definitely will be a nominee.

BUT THE ALL TIME WINNER HAS TO BE THE COSTUME DESIGNERS TIM CHAPPEL AND LIZZY GARDINER  -  I would change the the words  of the song "I Will Survive"  which features in the show, to "I Will protest" if they don't win.

We even have to nominate our Play-Bound goer, Leslie Goldberg, for a Tony....Leslie was pulled out of the audience and ended up on the stage WHOOPING IT UP WITH THE CAST.  We had to ask Leslie for her autograph.  Yes, you can be one of the lucky ones plucked from the audience to make your stage debut on Broadway.
